Elbert Kuo, MD, MPH, MMS, FACS

Elbert Kuo, MD, is a dual board-certified, fellowship-trained general thoracic surgeon and national expert in robotic surgery with over two decades of experience treating surgical conditions of the chest and abdomen. In his previous role at a MD Anderson partner cancer center in Arizona, he led a thoracic surgery and lung cancer team that consistently achieved outcomes and quality rankings in the top 10% nationwide, created a lung cancer screening program that screened over 6,000 patients a year and facilitated a multidisciplinary experience for lung cancer patients that significantly decreased time from diagnosis to treatment. He has earned multiple national awards for his surgical excellence, patient care and dedication to teaching. His areas of expertise include:

About Me

Having grown up in New England, I've always had a deep love for the water. My wife, children, and two dogs enjoy spending time outdoors, whether on the beach or out on a boat. For us, life is about creating lasting memories with our loved ones and friends.

I firmly believe that a multidisciplinary approach to disease management fosters collaboration and leads to the best outcomes for our patients. I take pride in providing patient-centered care, ensuring that both patients and their families fully understand their condition and all available diagnostic and treatment options. My particular focus is on minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgical techniques, which help reduce postoperative discomfort and enable patients to return to their daily activities as quickly and safely as possible.
