Joel Ahlgrim, DO

Dr. Ahlgrim will see patients in a temporary office at Baptist HealthPlace at Nocatee until moving to our new Bartram Commons location, opening in 2026 off Race Track Road. Joel Ahlgrim, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician who treats patients ages 5 and up. He is a retired Navy physician with over two decades of full-scope experience in both inpatient and outpatient medicine and has held multiple leadership positions during his naval career. Dr. Ahlgrim has cared for military members and their families stationed across three continents and aboard ships at sea. He takes pride in communicating complex medical issues clearly and simply so his patients can make informed choices to better reach their goals. His areas of expertise include:

About Me

We chose to remain in Jacksonville after my military career for the welcoming culture and great quality of life we have found. With my wife and our two children, I enjoy traveling, kayaking, serving at our church and playing pickleball together.

I believe that when patients have a better understanding of their medical problems, they are much better equipped to make sound plans and see them through. This is why I focus on the education my patients receive about their medical issues.
