With over 18 years of experience, Shalaka Ghate, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who treats patients ages 11 and up. As a primary care physician, Dr. Ghate serves as the first point of contact for her patient’s concerns and views her daily work with patients as a way to give back to the community. Fluent in three languages, she places a strong emphasis on good communication and educating her patients to better understand their unique conditions to achieve maximal wellness and better health outcomes. About Me

I initially moved to Jacksonville for my Family Medicine residency in 2004. With great weather year-round, nice quality of life, and easy access to the ocean as well as the beach this city was an excellent spot for me and my family to settle down.

My philosophy of care has always been to blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with a compassionate approach to education, disease prevention, and health management of the overall patient as a whole. This has helped my patients achieve maximal wellness and have better health outcomes.

I often experience my daily work with patients as a calling and not just a job and feel that it is my way of giving back to the community. So every day at the clinic, no matter how it turns out, never fails to fill my heart with passion and gives me a sense of purpose to do more daily for the community.
