Jeanette Torres, MD

Jeanette Torres, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who treats patients of all ages. She was born in New York and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. During high school, Dr. Torres won the Dominican Republic’s national mathathlon, a competitive math-based competition. At this time, she also earned scholarships by attaining the highest possible score on the national standardized test, the pruebas nacionales del Distrito Nacional. Using her scholarships attained during high school, Dr. Torres then attended medical school at the Universidad Iberoamericana of Santo Domingo. After graduation, she embarked on humanitarian work at the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Her passion for improving patient outcomes led her to publish several research papers in the Dominican Republic before moving back to the US to continue her medical education. I am a newcomer to Jacksonville. I enjoy cooking, dancing, cross-stitching, DIYs, and spending time with my dogs.

I believe we all should leave the world better than when we came. I believe in listening to my patients, guiding them through their healthcare journey, and helping them become the best, most healthy versions of themselves. That is my way of serving the world; by aiding my patients to have fulfilling lives.

I desire to care for underserved communities and to improve preventative care as I believe that it not only saves money but also time and suffering.
