Marissa King, PA-C

Marissa King has been a board-certified physician assistant since 2019. She first started her career in cardiology, but when the COVID pandemic hit, she transitioned to the highly needed field of palliative and hospice care. In that field, her passion was being a part of an interdisciplinary care team that optimized patient education and quality of life to mitigate suffering for both the patient and the family living with a serious and/or complex illness. Eventually, she was able to get back into cardiology and has been with Baptist Heart Specialist since 2021, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Marissa strives to provide evidence-based care to each patient and ensures that each patient is educated on their condition, so they can obtain a full understanding of their cardiac health. About Me

I am a native Floridian but specifically moved to Jacksonville in 2017 with my husband. We fell in love with all that this city has to offer right away. In our spare time, we enjoy doing home improvement projects, crafting, walking Jacksonville Beach with our pup and traveling whenever we can.

My philosophy of care is to treat every patient as if they are a family member or a friend. I strongly believe that it is imperative to slow down and listen to my patients, understand their perspectives on their health thoroughly and take the time to explain the whole clinical picture to the patient so that they understand our perspective of their health status, as well to help with overall compliance, quality of life and patient-provider rapport.
